One key, two moves
Hold, talk, let go. Tally drops the ums, adds the punctuation and types it wherever your cursor is. Say “new line” for a line break.
Your words become the prompt. Write an email, answer a question, or highlight text first and it goes along as context. The result replaces your selection.
Private by default
Speech recognition runs on your own machine, fast enough that text appears the moment you let go. There's no account, no cloud transcript and nothing to cancel.

Questions
Yes. Dictation runs on your computer, so it costs nothing to run and there's nothing to subscribe to. Ask AI is free with Apple Intelligence or Ollama. If you choose Claude or OpenAI instead, you pay them directly with your own key.
Right ⌥ Option on Mac and Right Ctrl on Windows, plus Shift to ask AI. You can pick a different key in Settings. Press Esc while holding to cancel.
Anywhere you can type: chat apps, email, docs, code editors, browsers. Blurt pastes the text for you, then puts back whatever you had copied.
A Mac with macOS 13 or later (Apple silicon or Intel), or a Windows 10 or 11 PC, and about 1 GB of free space for the voice model. Apple Intelligence needs macOS 26 on a Mac that supports it.
English plus 24 European languages, including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish.
So Blurt can notice when you hold the talk key, read the text you've highlighted, and paste into the app you're using. Blurt doesn't record your screen or keystrokes.
